Mango is a tropical climacteric most popular fruit of India. A fruit type of mango is drupe. Mango is also known as King of fruits. This national fruit of India. This is also called as a bathroom fruit. Uttar Pradesh rank 1^st in mango production with a share of 23.47%. According to 2017-18 data total area of mango cultivation was 2258ha and production was 21,822mt in India. Different research institutes in India and abroad are doing hybridization to produce ne hybrids with superior traits.

• Dry branches, ripe fruits and green leaves of mango are used in ritual activity in hindu religion. Dry branches are used for hawan, ripe mango are used as prasad.
